feeling impulsive

last week, i was fortunate enough to host the sf party for the launch of the nicole richie for macy's impulse line. as part of it, i got to style my own look to wear that night using pieces from the collection. clearly, hell has frozen over because i'm wearing dresses on the reg these days. 

i think i was especially drawn to this particular dress because i used to be obsessed with getting a peacock feather tattoo. (i don't think there's was ever a time up through high school where i didn't have peacock feathers hanging in my room...)

for the record, i don't have a peacock feather tattoo.

it's a burberry world that we live in

for years, everyone (guys AND girls) have been telling me one of their favorite scents is always one from burberry. naturally, i was stoked when they reached out to have me try the burberry body perfume. it's incredibly feminine. you pick up on the peach and freesia immediately, and then the iris and rose notes come through - warm and comforting.

i like wearing perfume. it's funny because you won't know that about a person just by reading her blog. scents play such a big role in creating memories of people and things. i think wearing scents is a fun element to add to how you present yourself. and you know me, i love a good juxtaposition, so ethereal yet tailored was my sartorial mood after spritzing on a little burberry body perfume.

white light/white heat

leather shorts are completely practical in my book. i think i own 3 or 4 pairs, which beats out my collection of denim cutoffs. continuing on my minimal obsession and sticking to black and white. it's just so crisp, clean, fresh. i topped it all off with some stripper shoes zara heels (every guy friend of mine can't separate the idea of lucite heels with strippers).

unfortunately since shooting this, i stucked my elbow on top of a black ink pen. any recommendations on how to get it out? i have the worst luck with white clothes. i spilled soup on a brand new white blouse, stuck my elbow in ink, and my dog ate my other ($$$) white tee - no, seriously he did.
