oh you pretty things

i took a long overdue vacation last week, and what better place to go than my favorite city full of some of my favorite people? so much food. so much drinking. so much shopping. shot guns. drove an atv. saw amazing friends. it was incredibly fun and just what i needed to step away from reality - even if it was only for a new york minute.

i became obsessed with this dress when i first saw it online. thankfully, my lovely laura lives near the pixie market store in manhattan, so i bought it when i was there for fashion week. the neckline is flattering even if it is a white shift dress. (why guys hate shift dresses, i'll never understand.)

as someone who was raised to know catholicism and studied art history, i've always had an obsession with christian iconography - so it was easy for me to be drawn to this dress. something is always better when it can tell a story, and everything in christianity has symbolism behind it. (i mean, have you seen how long the bible is?)
