from brisbane to new york

it was so hot out yesterday! and to my surprise, my friend from iowa texted me to say he drove his motorcycle through my neighborhood....in san francisco. he moved to the west coast! talk about a good day! i showed him around the mission district; we got ice cream cones from the notorious bi-rite ice cream shop, and we headed to mission dolores park to talk and enjoy the sunny weather.
in other news, i leave for new york in less than a week, and plans are finally coming together! i got my ticket to the chictopia.10 conference, plan to see a runway show or two, ordered my business cards, and arranged to stay in the east village for a few nights. my jc brisbane boots arrived just in time! i think these booties are going to be perfect for fall, and i can't wait to style them up. i think they will have to come along with me to new york...
speaking of new york, does anyone have any recommendations for vintage shopping in manhattan?

go vintage shopping in brooklyn. vintage in manhattan is insanely expensive (i wouldn't even bother trying) - there's nothing like san francisco vintage prices.
