ready for a wet hot american summer

on my last day of work, i sat and watched my replacement do my job. it was like the last day of school - just waiting for the minutes pass until you're free to go and enjoy yourself for another summer. i've always had a job, so this is my first free summer since i was 15, yes, 15.
and so yesterday, my 'summer' began. the day was warm and sunny. best of all, i spent it with aimee, liz and laura. we went dog shopping and vintage shopping. both were fruitless for me, but be prepared for puppy cameos in my future posts!
i'm going to live in these high waist jeans, i swear. i'm ready to kick the skinny jeans trend to the side for a bit. now i'm on the search for jeans i can turn into high waist shorts a la dazed and confused. know any places in the bay area where i can find them? so far, the vintage stores are coming up short.
and for those of you who want to see photos of my new apartment: it's not quite photo-ready. once we get completely settled in, i promise to post pictures. my building has so many nooks and crannies, i'm excited to explore it and take photos inside!
