ever since erin from calivintage posted her outfit with the oxfords, i was fixated on finding some for myself. i scoured the internet for days; hours and hours wasted. then doubts began to set in about whether or not i could pull them off. sure, pointed shoes make your legs look longer, but would these just have the same effect as flats - stubby legs, but now with pointy feet? the great thing about obsession (which i think we could call it at this point) is that when you're so determined to have something, nothing stops you; even if you have your doubts.
then last week, i went to dsw to use my two $10 off coupons and squeeze in some end-of-year shopping to get the last few points i needed to attain the vip status membership. i never go to the floor with the men's shoes and women's sneakers and career shoes, but this time, i felt compelled to check things out on that floor. as i walk down the second aisle, lo and behold, i find oxfords! the only flat, women's oxfords style in the store, and they have my size!
it was love at first sight! with my coupons, i snagged these babies for $35. not bad, eh? as i looked over my photos for this post, i started to get the rude boy vibe from my outfit. in high school, i loved ska music, and to this day, i love punk bands like the clash.
since buying the shoes, i've been playing with different looks. now i'm obsessed with wearing my boyfriend's black joy division tee with black pants and these shoes while layering on necklaces and rings. i'm sure it will be a post soon, seeing as i can't stop wearing the outfit now.
